One hundred and eight senior high and technical schools have gathered in Accra to participate in the preliminary stage of the 2018 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
The preliminary stage of the NSMQ which began on Monday, June 11, 2018, will end on Saturday, June 16, 2018.
It is taking place simultaneously at the R.S Amegashie Auditorium and the New ‘N’ Block at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The six days of preliminary contests will have a total of six competitions conducted in a day; three each at the respective venues.
The 36 winners and 18 highest-scoring losing schools will advance to the one-eighth stage of the competition to join the 27 seeded schools from last year’s competition.
The Quiz mistresses for the prelims are Dr. Angela Lamptey of the Department of Marine and Fisheries Sciences and Mrs. Gladys Schwinger of the Department of Plant and Environmental Biology; both of the University of Ghana, Legon.
