THE ART CENTRE: it is located in the heart of Accra, close to the Kwame Nkrumah mausoleum. It is free, easily accessible and easy to find. It is Ghana’s largest crafts market. People travel from far places just to see the place. There are scores of stalls selling beads, wood carvings, brass work, leather goods, kente cloth and numerous items made from it, and much more
THE MUSEUM FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY: It was established in 1965 by university lecturers who identified a need to create awareness of past and current developments in science and technology in Ghana, and presented a proposal for the development of the institution to Kwame Nkrumah, the then president of Ghana. It is located on the same road as Accra Technical University. Although it is not free, entry rates very cheap and almost free for children.
A NICE RESTAURANT ON OXFORD STREET: Oxford Street in Osu has got a plethora of low budget restaurants for families. It is a great place to take your family, especially on a weekend. There is no need to break the bank on a day out with family; you can chill on a low budget with your family.
W.E.B. DU BOIS CENTER: Discover a hidden part of Ghana’s history through this Pan-Africanist icon in this special building celebrating his life and death. This is a great place to visit if you are looking to teach your children about art and culture.
