GOVERNMENT UNDERTAKES FUMIGATION EXERCISE IN ALL SECONDARY AND TECHNICAL SCHOOLS IN GHANA

The Government of Ghana in partnership with Ghana Education Service and Zoomlion is set to begin a fumigation exercise in Senior High Schools (SHS), Technical and Vocational Education and Training Schools (TVETS) across the country.

Head of Public Relations at the Education Ministry, Ekow Assifuah, told Myjoyonline.com in an interview that, this development is in line with efforts by the country to counter the spread of the novel coronavirus in Ghana.

Government has over the past weeks, undertaken similar exercises in major and satellite markets across the country. Ministries and other government departments have also not been left out.

The programme scheduled to begin on April 14, 2020, includes “private, public and special schools” at the second-cycle leve0, he added.

Mr Assifuah encouraged heads of the schools to “cooperate with Zoomlion by opening up their schools for the exercise to go on successfully.”

Ghana’s COVID-19 case count currently stands at 566 with 8 deaths and 4 recoveries.
