Today is World Health Day. Ironically the world is neck-deep in a major health crisis threatening to bring everything humanity holds dear to a standstill. Currently, major cities across the world are on lockdown with most daily human activities at a standstill till further notice.
Although the situation around the world seems grim and hopeless, some real heroes in the form of health workers and other front liners have risen to the occasion to help fight the outbreak of the pandemic. A world without these people would be scarier for most of us.
They have dutifully performed their duties without any murmur or complaints. They have kept us well informed and educated us on ways we can prevent catching or spreading the disease to others.
Furthermore, they‘ve had to work morning and night providing the needed care to people who have been infected. They work around the clock while we stay with our loved ones.
Before the outbreak of COVID-19, health workers have kept us healthy and in some cases alive when we fell sick or got injured. They cleaned, fed and nursed us back to health when we were too sick to do so ourselves.
We may never be able to repay all the bravery and courage they have shown us during the outbreak of the COVID-19. The best we can do is to make their jobs easier by obeying all the given rules and policies created to minimize the impact of the disease.
We celebrate their enormous effort on this day.
