Make Private Schools Benefit from School Feeding Programme – Proprietor

Mr Edward Kwadwo Fordwour, Founder of the Blue Star Preparatory School at Akrofufu near Kwaben in the Atiwa West District of the Eastern Region, has appealed to the government to extend the School Feeding Programme to private schools.

He explained that such facilities would enable children from poor families in rural communities and deprived communities in urban areas to be attracted to school.

Mr Fordwour, was speaking at a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meeting at the school.

He called on the Ghana Education Service to help train the staff of private schools to enable the schools to keep abreast with the latest teaching techniques.

He explained that the delay in the payment of fees is the reason why some private schools find it difficult to employ qualified teachers, construct decent structures and provide school bus services for the children.

Mr Fordwour appealed for support from the corporate institutions to private schools to also help support children from the rural areas.
