IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO GIVE IT A SHOT

Birthdays are happy moments for almost everyone, but society is gradually finding a way to steal the joy of the occasion. Society has managed to set age limits for various life occurrences, and so, when one is turning a particular age and has not yet attained the set goals, it becomes a problem. These goals, coupled with individual ones, tend to steal the joy out of people and make them unappreciative.

Turning 30, for example, is an age that most people look forward to, but it takes a strong will not to have certain things and be excited to be in your 30s. Being in your 30s comes with unsolicited questions accompanied by cynical looks like these:

Are you married?

Any children?

What do you do?

Are you now getting a degree?

What do you drive?

And many more…………….

Women suffer it more, and one can quickly become a shadow of themselves if they live based on these standards. During festive seasons, like Easter and Christmas, a wish from a relative or older friend will read as such;

“It is my wish that next year by this time, you will invite me to your wedding” or at Easter, “May the death and resurrection of Christ be the death of any delay in your life. May you rise to success and be a wife, a mother and a CEO”.

Remember this: Your dreams are yours, and they will happen whenever the time is right. Just keep at it, put in the work and be consistent. Do not be pressured by dint of age, societal pressures or anything related. Doing that will kill your joy faster. “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.

No matter your age and where you are in life, enjoy the seemingly little things of life because one day, you may look back and realise they were the big things.
