Kindergarten schools in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis in the Western Region joined a parade to commemorate the 62nd Independence Day celebration at the jubilee park in Takoradi.
This year’s parade was held under the theme: “Teaching and Learning in the Kindergarten in Peace and Unity”.
In all, 25 schools participated in the parade, which was interspersed with cultural performances and other entertaining activities.
The Regional Director of Education, Mr Addo Dankwa Akuffo urged parents to take notice of the talents of their children in order to help them build on it since they were the future leaders of the nation.
The Metropolitan Chief Executive Mr Anthony Kobina Kurentir Sam, advised kindergarten teachers to have patience in nurturing the pupils.
He also asked parents to put in measures to ensure the children’s safety and help avoid the current Kidnapping issues being recorded in the Metropolis.
