Have you struggled with sticking to your goals and achieving your dreams? Reaching your goals is not an easy route to take and requires commitment and persistence.
If you want solutions to help you achieve your goals, here are a few tips that can help you to efficiently accomplish them.
Write down your goals
Writing can make it easier for you to clarify what you want to achieve. Having broad and vague goals will only make you lose track of the things you want to achieve as the year progresses. If you write down your goals, it allows you to focus and think deeply about the changes and improvements you want to make. It also allows you to reflect on them anytime you want to get back on track or review them. Write down your resolutions clearly, and briefly and keep it close to you, so you can always fall back on it and track your progress.
Break your goals into realistic actions
Having attainable goals is important to help you achieve your resolutions for the new year. Bulky and unclear resolutions may be difficult to achieve. You need a strategy with clearly defined plans to help you achieve the changes and improvements that you desire in your life. You can set monthly goals and break them down into weekly and daily goals. Write them down too. Each night before bed or every morning before your day starts, write down your goals for the day. The year is made up of 365 days and if you do not commit to achieving bits of success every day, for a collective success, you may end up being part of those whose goals die as the year progresses.
Let someone keep you in check
Whatever your goals are, you must put in effort not to sway from the reason for which you set them. Depending on what you want to achieve, (be it an attitudinal change or a target to meet) let someone close, whom you can trust help keep you in check. For instance, if you want to work out every weekend, ask them to help keep you in check. We easily slip and give ourselves excuses when we omit certain things we want to achieve, however it is difficult to give other people consistent excuses. This is a good way to track progress.
Rewards are great at keeping us motivated. Plan how you want to reward yourself with the attainment of each milestone. You can promise yourself a box of pizza if you consistently go on diet for a month or two, or buy a new dress when you accomplish your financial goals such as staying within budget (or saving efficiently) for the month. You can also promise yourself a treat if you successfully gain admission for a new course, and so on. Rewarding yourself is key in keeping you inspired. Fulfillment is good, but rewards can help to make it better.
Keep going and do not relent. If you allow laziness and distractions too often, you will lose track and interest in your target, especially if those targets take you out of your comfort zone. Identify the people and things that get you distracted and avoid them, or make time for them so they do not get in the way of your goals. Nobody said it would be easy but keep moving and you will achieve great fulfillment than you ever imagined.
