TIPS TO STAY COOL IN A HEAT STROKE

It is November and it looks the sun is at war with the inhabitants of earth! Even in the midst of intermittent rainfall, everyone is at the mercy of the sun at its full peak. Knowing how to beat the heat could be a saving grace for you and your family. Here are a few tips on staying healthy during a heat stroke.

CONSIDER WEARING LOOSE CLOTHING: The type of clothes you decide to wear during this period could make a world of difference to your wellbeing. In terms of wardrobe, consider wearing loose and simple designed clothes. This makes it easier for air to find its way around your body. It is time to put the turtle neck, long sleeves and jackets way unless your profession demands you wear them.

DRINK LOADS OF WATER: Ordinarily you should drink lots of water every day but on days such as this, it is mandatory you drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Not drinking enough water could be detrimental to your health.

STORE YOUR FOOD SAFE: During this time fresh food tends to go bad easily; it is, therefore, important you store your food properly. You can consider storing them in a cool dry place or a refrigerator.

KEEP YOUR HOUSE COOL: You can keep your house cool by closing the windows and curtains when you leave for work and keep them open once you return. You can also plant some trees to sit under when indoors becomes too hot.

EAT LOTS OF FRUIT: Sucking on fruits helps you to stay hydrated and cool downs your temperature. Watermelons and oranges are good fruits to help you stay healthy and cool this season.

The heat might last until December. We encourage everyone to stay healthy out there!
