UPSA ADOPTS LA NKWANTANANG M/A SEVEN AND EIGHT BASIC SCHOOLS

The University of Professional Studies (UPSA), Accra, has adopted La Nkwantanang M/A Seven and Eight Basic Schools in the La Nkwantanang- Madina Municipal District, in the Greater Accra Region.

This grand gesture is in celebration of the school’s 55th anniversary and forms part of its Community “Academic Project’.

As part of the initiatives, the UPSA would organise Saturday classes for the pupils with its students and members of Faculty volunteering in teaching Mathematics, English, French, and Social Studies and other subjects.

The University also pledged to assist the school with the construction of a canteen as well as the provision of computers and books.

Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, Vice-Chancellor, UPSA, at the launch, on Monday, said that this would help students in their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

He said the initiative is to motivate the pupils to aim high to achieve academic excellence.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, one of the students, Madiya said she was motivated to see UPSA representatives ready to help improve their academic standards.
